Hydrogen from water

A Stanford chemistry professor has developed a way to extract hydrogen (and oxygen) from water using a 1.5V AAA battery. This is fantastic. Hydrogen is a great fuel. Faster, please!

Super hydrophobic material

This is one of the neatest technologies ever. U of R researchers can etch a surface with a laser to create a material that repels water. Watch the video and see water bouncing off of the surface.

The looming student loan bubble

This graph frighteningly displays the problem we have created. There are more in the full article. Total student loan debt, which is greater than one trillion dollars, has increase 4 fold in the last ten years. This is a bubble. It will burst.

This Is What Touchscreens Looked Like in 1982

An old video of a touchscreen. Of course the English accent is cool. But the touchscreen is used to control (aim and shoot) a dart gun. Now that is really practical research.
